Panasonic used ISE 2016 to unveil the PT-RZ970 Series, the industry’s lightest and most compact 1-Chip DLP™ laser phosphor projector, boasting 10,000 lumens brightness at up to WUXGA resolution.

The three-model series (WUXGA, WXGA, XGA) builds on the features and technology of Panasonic’s multi-award-winning PT-RZ670 Series, but with approximately 1.5 times more brightness and with picture quality approaching that of its 3-Chip DLP™ models.

The PT-RZ970 is engineered for maintenance-free operation of up to 20,000 hours1. As such, it is aimed at use in rental, exhibitions, conferencing and lecture halls, as well as signage and surveillance applications.

The projector series features an airtight optical engine block that exceeds industry dustproofing standards as well as dual solid-state laser modules to maintain high brightness. The projectors also include a new high-speed backup that switches, almost instantly; to a secondary input should the primary signal fail, ensuring the highest reliability.

Hartmut Kulessa, European Projector Marketing Manager for Panasonic, said, “The PT-RZ970 uses new-generation laser phosphor technology and a Dynamic Contrast function that very quickly and precisely modulates light source output according to image requirements. The result is 10,000:1 contrast ratio, deeper blacks, more accurate white balance and vivid, natural colour reproduction - not usually seen in 1-chip projectors.”

The compact RZ970 Series features flexible installation for permanent or temporary rigging. It is compatible with DIGITAL LINK single-cable connection and allows the re-use of existing 1-Chip DLP™ lenses. In addition, the projectors can be mounted through 360-degrees, have powered lens shift with keystone correction and built-in Geometric Adjustment.
